  • The tool design incorporates buffer tube size gages on the tool body for easy selection of the proper tube slitting channel
  • Convenient spring loaded lever opens and closes the tool and the lever becomes flush with the top of the tool body when closed
  • Optimal results will be achieved the closer in size the tube is to the nominal/standard size.

  • Same blade part No. for all three tool channels
  • Length: 2.5 in. (63.5 mm)
  • Weight: 8oz (226.7g)

Slitting Instructions:

  1. Using the incorporated gauge slots, determine the size of the buffer tube to be slit.
  2. Open the tool by lifting the cam lever.
  3. Position the tube in the appropriate channel, ensuring it is fully aligned. The blades are located at a groove mark, where indicated by B.L. This “blade line” is where the cut will start.
  4. Close the tool by rotating the cam lever.
  5. Firmly grasp the tool and pull in the desired direction. The tool produces two cuts in the tube, 180° from each other.
  6. The split tube can now be separated to access the fiber. Trim the tube sections for your individual needs.
