Fibertronics, Inc. provides fiber instruments and fiber optic OTDR testers, available in a range of sizes, including handheld options. These fiber optic testers, known as OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer), serve the purpose of measuring fiber length and overall optical attenuation within a circuit. They calculate the total loss, including splices and mated connectors. Additionally, they are capable of pinpointing faults or broken fibers (micro bends) in the cable routing. Certain models also feature a built-in VFL (visual fault locator).
