This IBC fiber optic cleaner pen is great for quickly removing dirt, dust, oil, and grease from optical fiber adapters. It is designed to clean MT ferrule (Male and Female) based multifiber connections such as fiber end-faces while inside an adapter, faceplate or bulkhead.
US Conec offers a selection of cleansers for cleaning multi-fiber connectors when the application calls for it. The MT and TMT based connector systems loaded in a bulkhead adapter, on the card edge, on a backplane, and even unmated cable assemblies can be cleaned using the alignment cap and the IBC Brand of multi-fiber cleaning tools. The female connectors without guide pins and the male connectors with guide pins can both be cleaned with multi-fiber cleaning equipment from the IBC Brand. Both flat and angled ferrules can be cleaned using these products. The nozzle of US Conec multi-fiber cleaners is keyed to ensure exact alignment of the cleaning tip with the fiber array.
The stability of any optical network infrastructure depends critically on the condition of the connector. In addition to power degradation, connector end faces with even minor amounts of dirt (such as skin oils, dust, lotions, water residue, etc.) have a higher chance of experiencing irreparable damage during mating.
