MPO Trunk Cables are designed for use in high-density network configurations where cabling distances are known and space is a priority. They are primarily used in backbone cabling within buildings or between them. Trunk cables are beneficial because they can decrease cable volume and improve air flow conditions. They are a great alternative and very cost effective when compared to time-consuming field termination. MPO trunk cables come with 12, 24, 48, or 72 and more up to 144 fibers. MPO trunk cable connector types can be either male with pins or female without pins. These fibers are connected in three different methods, A, B, and C. Method A fibers go straight through. Method B fibers are reversed connected. Method C fibers are pairs flipped. These cables can be terminated with any fiber mode, fiber count, and custom cable configurations.

MPO trunk cables establish connections with MPO connectors on each end to maximize physical content. Trunk cables function effectively in high-density environments where they assist in maintaining a consistent signal thanks to their low insertion loss and high return loss. They include a straightforward push/pull mechanism that makes insertion and removal effortless. MPO stands for Multifiber Termination Push On.

Fibertronics, Inc. offers many different options and configurations with our MPO Trunk Cables, so they can be customized to your individual applications.  To find out more, please contact one of our friendly Solutions Specialists here.
