Network Rack vs. Server Rack

Network racks are usually used to store network equipment outside of the server itself, and they can sometimes be less deep than a server rack or cabinet. The reason is because servers require more space than a lot of networking equipment does. While servers normally have a depth of approximately 36 inches, the network rack may be shorter than 31 inches.
