This BIDI (Bi-directional) 2 Wavelength WDM (Wave Division Multiplexing) Fiber Optic Media Converter is designed to fit into the fast-growing and ever advancing optical fiber network deployment environment. This stand-alone converter adapts the emerging WDM technology and can expand copper-based networks up to 40km through a single optical fiber and provide bi-directional data. Users can now double their optical fiber bandwidth and upgrade their existing 100Base-TX or even 10Base-T network easily and more cost effectively. Product are sold in pairs.
The hot-swappable design of these converters makes them easy to install and fix for inexperienced users, so that they can communicate with other devices. With high data transmission performance over fiber optic cable, media converters extend communication distance. A media converter is merely a device that can be plugged in and operated, but when connected to the network it must take account of certain factors.
